Climate Action Plan

Version 1.2 | July 2026 | Reviewed annually, fully updated at least every three years

Our commitment

Jeuneora is committed to supporting the global ambition to limit warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels, in line with the Paris Agreement.

We are a New Zealand skincare and supplements company with fewer than ten employees, working from a single office and warehouse site in Christchurch. Our products are made by contract manufacturers based in New Zealand.

This plan sets out where our impact sits, what we are doing about it, the targets we hold ourselves to, and how we track progress.

Where our impact sits

Source What this covers
Packaging The materials we package our products in. Our largest lever, because we specify it directly.
Manufacturing Energy and resources used by our NZ-based contract manufacturers.
Courier and freight Getting products to customers in New Zealand and overseas.
Site operations Electricity, water and waste at our Christchurch site.
Business travel Occasional travel, already limited by our preference for virtual meetings.
Packaging at end of life What happens to our packaging once a customer has finished with it, and whether it ends up in landfill.

What we are doing

Packaging

  • Our supplement pottles moved to sugarcane-based plastic in 2020, made from a renewable feedstock rather than a fossil-fuel one. They are HDPE and can be recycled through standard New Zealand kerbside collection.
  • Our skincare packaging is currently specified at 20-50% post-consumer recycled content wherever a recycled option exists for that format. It cannot be recycled kerbside, so we run a take-back programme with TerraCycle for New Zealand customers to return it to us rather than send it to landfill.

Freight

  • All of our manufacturing is done in New Zealand, which takes international inbound freight out of our supply chain.
  • We receive independently verified carbon reporting from both our domestic and international couriers, and we participate in DHL Express GoGreen+, which allocates verified sustainable aviation fuel to our international shipping. That reduces emissions within the aviation supply chain rather than reducing the volume we ship, so we report our gross emissions alongside the net figure.

Ways of working

  • We prefer virtual meetings to travel, and office staff work from home two days a week.

Our targets

ID Target Key actions in the next 12 months Target date Owner
T1 Every skincare packaging format with a recycled-content option available from our supplier is specified at 50% post-consumer recycled content or higher. Review each format against supplier availability at the next packaging order and record the outcome per format. 30 June 2028 COO
T2 Maintain 100% New Zealand-based contract manufacturing. Confirm the manufacturing location for every production run. If an offshore option is ever considered, record the freight and emissions comparison before deciding. 30 June 2028 COO
T3 Hold DHL Express GoGreen+ participation at or above the FY26 level, and log gross and net international courier emissions every financial year. Confirm the participation level at the annual courier review and file the certificate and emission report. 30 June 2028 COO
T4 Establish a full 12-month electricity, water and waste baseline for our Christchurch site, then set a numeric reduction target for FY29. Log electricity, water, waste and recycling monthly from December 2026 and review completeness every month. 31 December 2027 COO
T5 Reduce general waste sent to landfill by 10% against the calendar 2027 baseline, and keep the TerraCycle take-back programme open to New Zealand customers throughout. Complete the 12-month waste baseline, then identify the two largest landfill streams and one diversion option. 30 June 2029 COO

How we track progress

What we record Detail From
Packaging Recycled content and sugarcane volumes, per order In place
Courier emissions Independently verified reports from our domestic and international couriers, recorded gross and net In place, annually
Electricity, water and waste Monthly readings and collections at our Christchurch site, including where each waste stream ends up December 2026
Packaging returns Returns received from New Zealand customers and weight sent for recycling In place, monthly

Governance and review

  • This plan is owned by our Chief Operating Officer and approved by our Chief Executive Officer, who is the highest governing authority in the business.
  • Environmental metrics are reported at monthly board meetings, and the plan and its targets are reviewed annually. Targets are revised if they are no longer the right ones.
  • This plan is fully updated at least every three years.
  • We consult our team on the practical side of this plan, particularly waste and energy at the warehouse. We raise environmental practices with our manufacturing partners annually, and environmental impact forms part of how we assess suppliers.
  • The carbon figures we publish for our sugarcane packaging are our supplier's published conversion factors rather than measurements we have made ourselves.
  • Supporting data is held internally and is available to our certification auditor.

Human rights commitment

Jeuneora is committed to respecting human rights across our business and supply chain. We are an accredited Living Wage Employer, paying all employees - including part-time, casual, and contractors - at or above the Living Wage. We prohibit child, forced, or compulsory labour. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, religion, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic. All employees have the right to organise and bargain collectively. We maintain zero tolerance for bullying and harassment in our workplace. We consider human rights and environmental impacts when choosing and working with our suppliers.

Our commitment to a fair and inclusive Jeuneora

At Jeuneora, we believe good business starts with treating people fairly - our team, our customers, our suppliers, and the wider community.

As a small New Zealand business, we are committed to:

  • Being an equal-opportunity employer, where decisions about hiring and progression are based on ability and fit, not background.
  • Paying our people fairly and transparently, including our commitment to the Living Wage.
  • Offering flexible working and supportive leave so our team can do their best work and look after their lives outside it.
  • Fostering a respectful, inclusive workplace where anyone can raise a concern without fear of retaliation.
  • Reviewing our policies through an equity and inclusion lens as we grow.

We see this as ongoing work rather than a box to tick, and we hold ourselves accountable to it.

Responsible lobbying statement

Jeuneora does not engage in lobbying or political advocacy. We do not seek to influence public decision-making or public opinion beyond our normal marketing activities, and we make no financial or in-kind contributions to political parties, candidates, or campaigns.

Should we consider lobbying or advocacy in the future, we will first adopt and publish a responsible lobbying policy consistent with the B Lab Standards.

This statement is reviewed annually.
